About the Crooked Billet
The Crooked Billet has the look and feel of a traditional country pub, which indeed it used to be. However, current owners John & Emma Gilchrist took the once failing pub, realised their dream, and have turned it into what it is today – a nationally recognised pub serving great food.
With praise and awards aplenty received for their food and wine, John & Emma’s initial goal for the pub has almost been realised…
“We wanted a pub that we would like to go to. Great beer, Great wine and Great food that was not only fresh, but cooked when you ordered it and without the use of microwaves. A place where the staff are knowledgeable, as enthusiastic as we are, proud of what they are doing, and above all, happy. We wanted a relaxed atmosphere and an environment that was clean and friendly. Things can always improve but we are getting close to our dream.”
