Frequently Asked Questions

 What are your opening times?

We serve lunch at the Crooked Billet from noon everyday (except Monday when we are closed all day) until 2.00pm on Tuesday to Saturday and until 3.30pm on Sunday.

 Dinner is served from 7pm to 9.45 from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

 The Bar is open on Tuesday to Saturdays from 12 noon to 2.30pm and in the evening from 5.30pm to 11.00pm. On Sunday the Bar is open from12.00 noon to 4.00pm and then from 7.00pm to 10.30pm.

 What food do you serve?

There is no one category in which we can put our food. Except to say it’s always seasonal and made from fresh ingredients. It is a blend of classical French cuisine mixed with a modern British approach.

Are you child-friendly?                                                                                                  

We welcome all children, they bring their parents.

Please bring a high chair for the smaller ones

 Are you wheel-chair accessible? 

Yes however due to the nature of the Grade II listed building certain areas are not accessible by wheelchair. Please do feel free to call ahead so we can make your visit as hassle free as possible.

 What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash and most major credit cards.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice of cancellation

 Is the restaurant available for private hire? 

Yes, we can host weddings, special occasions (50th birthdays, anniversaries), christenings and corporate functions in our restaurant which is ideally placed in village location between Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes. For more information on availability and prices please call us on.

 Are larger parties catered for? 

Yes, depending on the format of your event we can seat up to 70 people.

 Do you do outside catering? 

Yes we can cater for all types of corporate and private events.

 Is vegetarian food available? 

Yes, we have vegetarian options and a six course vegetarian tasting menu.

 Can you cater for food intolerance’s and allergies?

Yes, we cater for gluten and wheat allergies in particular please ask your server who will be pleased to assist you.

 Do you have a log fire in winter?

Yes we do which we also use to smoke our bacon & ham hocks.

 Do you have live music at the Crooked Billet? 

Yes on the first Sunday of every month we have host an informal live music session

 Is parking provided? 

We have plenty of free car parking spaces in our private car park directly outside the Crooked Billet. Do note that ground is slightly uneven so do take care.

 How can I join your loyalty club?
